Representatives from six universities and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education gathered on the campus of Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology May 28, 2014, for Articulation Day, a collaborative event that will make degree completion an easier process for students in Oklahoma.

Math Faculty Conference

On Sept. 20, 2012, math faculty and Council on Instruction members from around the state met to discuss strategies for improving student success in math, including information on the math Common Core State Standards adopted by Oklahoma public schools and different models for addressing math preparation, such as high school transitional courses and college math courses leading to different majors. This conference was supported with funding from the Education Commission of the States and the Southern Regional Education Board and its foundation grants.

Invitational Summit on Remedial Reform

On April 12, 2012, consistent with the Complete College America and Compete to Complete national initiatives, the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education facilitated a systemwide Invitational Summit on Remedial Reform contributing to national- and state-level efforts to address the educational pipeline challenges. The summit consisted of concurrent sessions in which public colleges and universities engaged in reviews of existing remedial education programs in effort to identify remedial reform best practices that promote more timely completion and improvements to learning outcomes.
