May 15, 2007 :: Higher Education Chancellor Comments on State Budget Compromise
Oklahoma State System of Higher Education Chancellor Glen D. Johnson released the following statement in response to the FY2008 budget compromise:
“We appreciate the efforts made by the legislative leadership and the governor to address the needs of our college and university students in a difficult budget year,” Johnson said. “Our top priority with the appropriation will be to defray the mandatory operational cost increases on our campuses.
“We are particularly grateful for the establishment of a permanent funding source for the Oklahoma’s Promise scholarship program. It will have a major impact on the state in the years to come.”
