May 20, 2010 - Higher Education Chancellor Comments on State Budget Agreement
Oklahoma State System of Higher Education Chancellor Glen D. Johnson released the following statement in response to the FY 2011 budget agreement:
“We appreciate the outstanding efforts made by Gov. Brad Henry, Speaker Chris Benge and President Pro Tem Glenn Coffee to address the needs of our college and university students by minimizing the negative budget impact in a tough economy,” Johnson said. “This budget agreement reflects the high priority that has been placed on higher education, recognizing its critical role in Oklahoma’s economy and the state’s ability to compete globally.
“As the State Regents’ budget allocation process moves forward, our top priority will be to help our colleges and universities continue to provide a top-quality educational opportunity while experiencing historic enrollment increases.”
