September 24, 2007 :: Education, State Officials Continue Discussion on Campus Safety
What: Third meeting of Gov. Henry’s Campus Life and Safety and Security (CLASS) Task Force to study safety at Oklahoma’s college and CareerTech campuses

Who: Fifteen officials from higher education, career technology education, public safety and health services
Why: To review progress reports from the task force’s five subcommittees: Notification, Response, Counseling, Laws and Policies, and Funding.
Background: Gov. Brad Henry created CLASS by an Executive Order in April 2007 following the Virginia Tech shootings. The task force will report its findings in January 2008 to the governor and legislative leadership.
