April 5, 2005 :: Deferments and Forbearances Topic of Upcoming Chat Event
Borrowers seeking to delay student loan payments due to economic hardships or other reasons can get information about deferments and forbearances during a live interactive chat session scheduled for 6 p.m. April 12.
Titled “Deferments, Forbearances and Default Prevention,” the chat session is sponsored by Mapping Your Future, a college, career and financial aid Web site.
Loan-counseling experts from across the country will be on hand during the chat as participants learn more about deferments and forbearance eligibility, the application process, alternative payment plans, loan consolidation and money management.
Anyone with Internet access can join in the chat by visiting www.mapping-your-future.org. Simple instructions will guide them on how to join the chat.
