February 20, 2004 :: ‘College Connection’ Takes a Look at the 2004 Legislative Session, Features Discussion on First Generation College Students
Sen. Cal Hobson, D-Lexington, joins the radio program “College Connection” this Saturday for a closer look at the current legislative session and its impact on higher education. Additionally, guests will discuss the challenges facing Oklahoma families who are sending someone to college for the first time.
Senate President Pro Tempore Hobson will be providing insight into this year’s legislative session as well as funding for education and the OHLAP scholarship program.
In addition, Heath Work, a first generation college student attending the University of Oklahoma will be joining Amy Gilbert, director and coordinator for the Educational Opportunity Center in Tulsa, and Ken Gullette, director of media relations for ACT, Inc. for a discussion on the challenges of attending college and the importance of earning a college degree.
“College Connection,” sponsored by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, will air Saturday, Feb. 21 from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on KFAQ 1170 AM in Tulsa and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on KOMA-News/Talk 1520 AM in Oklahoma City.
