March 12, 2004 :: Higher Education Officials, Rep. Hilliard Discuss Capital Improvement Needs on the Next ‘College Connection’
For more than a decade, Oklahoma colleges and universities have been struggling to provide much-needed classrooms and updated equipment to a steadily increasing student population.
Speaker Pro Tempore Danny Hilliard, D-Sulphur, joins Northeastern State University President Dr. Larry Williams and Maryanne Maletz, vice chancellor of budget and finance for the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, for a discussion on higher education’s capital needs and the funding required for these improvements on this week’s “College Connection.”
In addition, “College Connection” guests Dr. David Bryant, president of Oklahoma Panhandle State University, and Dr. Glen Johnson, president of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, share how each institution, located minutes from the state border, creates unique opportunities for rural Oklahomans.
“College Connection,” sponsored by the State Regents, will air Saturday, March 13 from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on KFAQ 1170 AM in Tulsa and from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on KOMA-News/Talk 1520 AM in Oklahoma City.
