An investiture ceremony for Dr. Bill R. Path, the fourth president of OSU Institute of Technology, will be Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. in Covelle Hall on the campus in Okmulgee. OSU president V. Burns Hargis will be among the speakers at the ceremony.

Path was named president of OSU Institute of Technology in November 2011, and since has launched many initiatives to promote the university’s mission of providing comprehensive, high-quality, advancing technology programs. He recently completed a strategic pan designed to lead the university into new areas of development and promote quality education and emerging technologies.

When Path took the helm at OSUIT last fall, he began learning about the university by touring each degree program and participating in technical classroom learning activities alongside students and teachers. His tour was chronicled in a series of award-winning videos titled “A New Path,” which are on OSUIT’s website at http://www.osuit.edu/path/.

Prior to joining OSUIT, Path had served as president of Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb., since 2001. He had also served as vice president for academic and student affairs at Aims Community College in Greeley, Colo., and vice president of student services at Northeast Community College. He had held positions at NorthWest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, Ark.; Kingwood College in Kingwood, Texas; and North Harris County College in Houston, Texas.

Path received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible from Harding University in Searcy, Ark., a Master of Science degree in educational psychology counseling from Texas A&M University in College Station, and a Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.

A reception including hors d’oeuvres will be held after the ceremony. For more information or to RSVP, call Claudette Butcher at 918-5256 or email claudette.butcher@okstate.edu.
