OCALD Minutes

OCALD
Minutes of the October 26, 2000 meeting
State Regents' Conference Room, Oklahoma City, OK

Beth Anne Freeman called the meeting to order. The minutes of the September 28, 2000 meeting were approved.

There was a discussion of the price restructuring of PsycInfo. Marty Thompson requested we get quotes from vendors that reflect the new pricing structure. Phil Moss will contact Amigos for a price quote on this product. Freeman requested the Cooperative Collection Development and Resource Sharing Committee draft a bid proposal for PsycInfo pricing to be ready to go out by January 2001. A discussion of the new pricing structure is available on the APA web site.

Ed Johnson provided an update on the recent change in state law dealing with obscenity. Libraries and educational institutions are no longer exempt in this revision of the law.

David Robinson reported on the Cooperative Collection Development and Resource Sharing Committee. He had checked with Amigos about consortia pricing for ECO, but was informed that he would have to deal with each individual publisher for any consortia arrangement. The committee will send a survey to the membership to see what databases are of interest to the group.

Phil Moss revisited the concern of the Student Advisory Board to the Regents regarding library hours. If you have any library satisfaction survey tools you have used in the past please forward those to Julie Brooks.

Freeman announced that the November 30 meeting will be by teleconference. Sites will be OSU-OKC, ECU in ADA, OSU-COM in Tulsa and possibly Enid. Final arrangements will be posted to the discussion list.

Meeting adjourned.
