50-Year Anniversary, Inauguration

March 12-15

OSU-Oklahoma City will celebrate its 50th anniversary with several events March 12-14. Campus officials will unveil the university’s Master Plan and the fourth OSU-OKC president, Natalie Shirley, will be inaugurated during the commemorative week. Former faculty, staff, students and the community are invited to share their personal OSU-OKC memories by visiting www.osuokc.edu/50.

The weeklong celebration begins with a VIP coffee reception March 12. The reception is a chance for former faculty and staff, and community leaders to reunite. After the reception, attendees can take part in a tour of the campus and experience demonstrations of the university’s programs. Demonstrations will include an inside look at the new, state-of-the-art Engineering Technology Center, innovative veterinary technology laboratories, nurse science simulation models, the Precision Driving Training’s SkidSUV, and the greenhouse areas of the John E. Kirkpatrick Horticulture Center.

Following the campus tour, university officials will unveil the master plan, which is a long-range blueprint of campus improvements that include a parking garage rendering. There will also be a 3-D model of the campus on display.

That evening, President Natalie Shirley will be inaugurated as OSU-OKC president.

A student celebration is planned for March 13 that includes live music, food, games and prizes.

Festivities resume March 14 with the annual Branding Success Campaign, an annual fund-raising campaign for faculty and staff, sponsored by the OSU Foundation.
