OCCC campus
June 2-Aug. 8

Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) is ready for summer, ready for camps and ready for kids. Summer Sports Camps, College for Kids and Musical Theater Camp kick off June 2.

Sports and Recreation Camps
OCCC Recreation and Fitness offers camps for children ages 6 to 15 for half-day or whole-day activities. The month of June is packed with basketball, soccer, karate and t-ball while July is set aside for volleyball, multi-sports, competitive swimming, indoor track and field, intro to dance techniques and intro to cheer and dance.

Children participating in any of the summer sports camps must be in grades first through eighth in the fall of 2014; class prices will vary.

For more information or to enroll a child, please stop by the OCCC Recreation and Fitness office, call (405) 682-7860, or click www.occc.edu/rf/index.html.

College For Kids
OCCC Community Outreach and Education will offer a wide variety of classes this summer at the Family and Community Education (FACE) Center at 6500 S. Land Ave., through the College for Kids program. College for Kids is designed for students entering grades first through eighth. The academic enrichment program consists mostly of one-week classes taught by qualified instructors.

The College for Kids creative arts classes and the musical theater programs are very popular with students. This year the Music Theater Academy, on July 24 and 25, will present The Magic Man, Jr. Enroll your child now; class dates are set for July 14-18 and July 21-25.

Additional classes range from beginning guitar and piano to calligraphy, DIY art, folk dancing, drawing basics, world drums and hand drums from around the world and so much more. Humanities, social sciences, computer applications, math, weather, the study of reptiles and outer space are just a few more extraordinary classes being taught this summer at OCCC. All classes are taught on the appropriate grade level for each child and promise to be fun and engaging.

For more information about College for Kids classes, please call Brannon Dresel at (405) 682-1611, ext. 7205. All enrollments, for sports camps and College for Kids classes, are due by 5 p.m. on the Thursday prior to the Monday start date of that class.
