OSU's new MBA a perfect fit for experienced business professionals

Tulsa business professionals may soon find the perfect fit between graduate school and the desire to advance their careers. Beginning this fall, Oklahoma State University will offer a new Professional Track Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree on the Tulsa campus.

OSU-Tulsa President Gary Trennepohl said the new flexible program will create unique opportunities for Tulsa’s professional community.

“As OSU-Tulsa continues to grow, we are creating selective programs that help meet the needs of the Tulsa community,” Trennepohl said. “OSU has already established a flagship MBA program and we are tailoring it to the needs of a working professional.”

Dr. Robert Dooley, director of the MBA program, said the new Professional Track MBA program will offer the same highly accredited instruction and courses as OSU’s traditional MBA.

"The Professional Track MBA program differs from OSU’s traditional MBA program only for the reason that students with significant management experience can use that knowledge to accelerate the completion of their degree,” Dooley said. “It’s designed specifically for business professionals who already possess 'real-world' experience and want to gain an edge in the business world with an MBA.”

Students with an undergraduate degree in business or related fields and at least three years substantial management experience are eligible to apply. The Professional Track MBA program includes 36 credit hours designed to fit around a working professional’s schedule, instead of the standard 48 credit hours. Students can pursue the Professional MBA degree on a full-time or part-time basis.

“The early response indicates that students will be extremely interested in the Professional Track MBA Program,” Dooley said. “The internationally recognized OSU MBA degree is going to be even more convenient for professionals who want to maximize their career momentum.”

The application deadline for admission for fall 2006 is July 1st. For more information, contact the OSU-Tulsa Academic Advising Center at 1.918.594.8271 or visit
