Rose State College and UCO unite for nursing degree program

Rose State College and University of Central Oklahoma have partnered to make it more convenient for students in the Midwest City area to get their bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Beginning in the fall 2006 semester, UCO will offer a career ladder program for registered nurses who wish to pursue a BSN on the RSC campus. The partnership allows students to stay on the campus of Rose State, a two year institution, and work toward a four-year degree. Students will take lower-division coursework at Rose State, and then transfer to UCO to complete upper-level classes while staying on the Rose State campus.

"We are extremely excited about this new opportunity for the graduates of our Program,” said Rebekah Ray, Director of the RSC Nursing Science Program. “A large number of our graduates go on to continue their education in nursing. Bringing the RN-BSN program from UCO offers these students an opportunity to continue their education close to home."

This is the second four-year program UCO will offer at RSC. Last Fall UCO began offering a baccalaureate degree program in business administration on the Rose Sate campus.
