OSU-OKC and UCO officials seal a transfer program agreement with their support and signature on Sept. 9, 2008.

Students in the OSU-Oklahoma City Early Care program have a new bachelor’s degree option thanks to a transfer agreement signed by OSU-OKC and University of Central Oklahoma on Sept. 9, 2008. This agreement allows students completing an OSU-OKC Associate in Applied Science degree in early care (administration or master teacher emphasis) to transfer to UCO and pursue their Bachelor of Science degree in family life education (child development emphasis).

Benefits for students enrolled in the transfer program are smaller class sizes for personalized attention and lower tuition expense at OSU-OKC and seamless transfer to UCO to obtain a bachelor’s degree.

Students completing the transfer program will have the knowledge to pursue careers as early care education master teachers or program administrators, parent education instructors, early intervention instructors, program teachers for infants to school-age children and social services agents in child and family programs.

Signing the transfer agreement were Dr. Jerry D. Carroll, OSU-OKC president; Dr. W. Roger Webb, UCO president; Dr. Larry Edwards, OSU-OKC vice president for academic affairs; Dr. William Radke, UCO provost vice president for academic affairs; Ms. Lisa Dillon, OSU-OKC division head of human services and assistant vice president of academic affairs; Dr. James Machell, UCO dean of CEPS; Kim Pearsall, OSU-OKC department head of early care education and Dr. Kaye Sears, UCO chair of human environmental sciences.

“I am very pleased to join efforts with UCO to increase opportunities for student success in higher education,” said Dr. Carroll. “I hope to see more transfer agreements in the future.”
