Encouraging High School Students to Study Math in College, University of Oklahoma, Norman
Dr. Richard Neal is available to visit Oklahoma high schools and give brief motivational talks about undergraduate math education in Oklahoma. He provides free information to students regarding math programs at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, the University of Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State University.

Neal has received several teaching awards at OU and is president of the American Society for Mathematics headquartered in Oklahoma City. He directs the OU Summer Mathematics Academy and provides private mathematics lessons.

Oklahoma GEAR UP recognizes that quality teachers are key to raising student academic achievement. Oklahoma’s K-16 standards and assessment system require that teachers have professional experience that includes content knowledge as well as an array of strategies for classroom-based instruction and assessment.
