The Student Preparation Office at the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education provides the PreACT for the sophomore class of all PK-12 public and private schools in the state. Anchored on the ACT college and career readiness standards, PreACT helps educators, students and parents identify areas of academic strength and opportunity.
PreACT provides:
- A practice opportunity for the ACT, covering all four ACT test subjects: English, math, reading and science.
- Both current achievement and predicted ACT test score ranges on the familiar 1-36 ACT score scale.
- An interest inventory for students to see a personalized view of their interests and college/career alignment to help them chart a course for life after high school.
- Actionable insights to help educators, parents and students make important decisions for the future.
- Rapid reporting turnaround within five-10 days of receipt of the answer documents, which allows for early and effective planning to ensure students can attain the success they envision.
- Item Response for students and educators showing the correct answer, student’s areas of strengths/weakness and ideas for progress to help in targeting interventions.
- Guidance for students to make informed choices well before graduation.
Test Timing
Total test time is two hours and 10 minutes (with approximately 60 minutes of pre-administration items; very important to complete as schools and students receive reports from the pre-administration items):
- English: 30 minutes
- Mathematics: 40 minutes
- Reading: 30 minutes
- Science: 30 minutes
Information for Oklahoma educators regarding the OSRHE-funded PreACT can be found at PreACT: Oklahoma.
Your school will receive your results back within five-10 days of receipt of the answer documents. Once you receive your reports, the Student Prep Team is available to provide on-site or virtual training for your educators, students and parents.
