Courtney K. Warmington, from Edmond, Oklahoma, was appointed as an Oklahoma State Regent by Governor Kevin Stitt in 2021, serving a nine-year term ending in May 2030. The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education is the constitutional coordinating board for the Oklahoma colleges and universities, responsible for allocating state funds, setting admission standards, and academic policies.
Warmington joined the law firm of Fuller Tubb Bickford Warmington & Panach, PLLC in 2016 after practicing for more than seventeen years in the Labor and Employment Practice Group at the law firm of Crowe & Dunlevy.
Warmington represents and advises employers on all matters affecting the employment relationship, from recruiting and retention to discipline and termination issues. She conducts audits and investigations as well as management and employee training, and frequently works with employers on drafting policies and procedures. She also routinely handles wage and hour matters, on both the state and federal levels, drawing upon the experience she gained during a four-year term as an Administrative Law Judge for the Oklahoma Department of Labor.
Warmington has been listed in the Top 25 Women Oklahoma Super Lawyers from 2014 to the present. She is listed in the Chambers USA Directory (2011-present) and Best Lawyers (2012-present).
Warmington has a Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University and a Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude in 1999.
Warmington served as articles editor of the Oklahoma City University Law Review; was recipient of the CALI award for Legal Research and Writing; winner of the Intramural Moot Court Competition Best Oralist; was the Merit Scholars Organization President; a member of the Moot Court Honors Board; a member of Phi Delta Phi, Order of the Barristers; and winner of the OCU Alumni Association Outstanding Service Award.
Warmington is a member of the American Bar Association (Employment Law Section; Litigation Section); the Oklahoma Bar Association (Employment Section); past member of the Luther Bohannon Inn of Court; Oklahoma City Human Resources Society (former General Counsel); Oklahoma Human Resource State Council (former General Counsel); and the Federal Bar Association.
