The Advanced Standing Program offers past, present or future enlisted members of the U.S. Navy the opportunity to receive college credit for military training and experience toward a two-year associate degree.
Classes can be taken prior to enlisting, while in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP), on active duty or after separation from the Navy.
Through Oklahoma higher education’s agreement with the U.S. Navy, a student can complete 30 hours of college courses entirely via the Internet. Combined with their Navy training and experience, a student will then qualify to receive an associate degree in applied science.
As an added bonus, all active-duty and delayed-entry personnel qualify for in-state tuition as part of the university’s agreement with the Navy. Those who have left active duty have two years to enroll and participate in the program in order to pay in-state tuition.
