The Scholars for Excellence in Child Care program provides scholarships for the following credentials:

Pathway to Your National Credential: a 150-clock-hour comprehensive curriculum that provides training and preparation for either the CDA or CCP national child care credentials.  

Director’s Pathway to Program Administration: a 130-clock-hour comprehensive curriculum that provides training and preparation in the areas of business, management and leadership in child care.  

Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential: a national credential awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition to child care professionals who have successfully completed the CDA assessment process.

Certified Child Care Professional (CCP) Credential: a national credential awarded by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation Commission Inc. to child care professionals who have successfully demonstrated their knowledge of early childhood development and their skills in working with young children.

Certificate of Mastery (CoM): a minimum 18-credit-hour certificate in infant/toddler, child development or early childhood education awarded by the community college.

Director’s Certificate of Completion (DCoC): a minimum 24-credit-hour certificate in child development and administration awarded by the Scholars program.

Director’s Certificate of Mastery (DCoM): a 33-credit-hour certificate in child development and administration available only through Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City.

Associate Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education: a minimum of 60 credit hours that may be obtained through the community colleges.

Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development or Early Care: a minimum of 120 credit hours that may be obtained through the universities.
