

Tinker Air Force Base (TAFB) has multiple partnerships and collaborations with the University of Central Oklahoma. These partnerships aid in economic development, increase key stakeholder engagement and promote student success in critical occupation areas. UCO signed an Education Partnership Agreement with Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex at Tinker Air Force Base in April 2022, resulting in the donation of a supercomputer cluster to the UCO College of Mathematics and Science. This donation expands UCO’s capability to perform computational research and to collaborate with TAFB to meet their workforce development needs. The UCO College of Mathematics and Science is working with TAFB to develop additional for extended activities, such as support for capstone projects, internship and research opportunities, career mentoring, and involvement of faculty in research projects.
TAFB also has a partnership with the UCO Department of Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) in the College of Business to enhance the Tinker Supply Chain Management Group. The operations and supply chain management (OSCM) program work with the Supply Chain Management Advisory Board from TAFB to address workforce needs and internship opportunities. Hundreds of UCO OSCM majors have interned and continued their careers at TAFB. The unique content of the UCO OSCM program includes supply chain and operational analysis skills, which are not included in many programs.
