Oklahoma Quality Matters (OKQM) and Teaching Online Certificate (TOC) Workshop Opportunities
OKQM is licensed to offer three Oklahoma Quality Matters workshops and seven Teaching Online Certificate (TOC) Workshops in state, offering members a significant discount compared to QM national workshops and a chance to work with their own peers from across Oklahoma. You may register for upcoming workshops using the Registration Form link below. If no OKQM or TOC workshops are available, you may visit the Quality Matters website to search for additional offerings.
Designing Your Online Course (DYOC)
Audience: Participants who need to design a course from scratch.
Prerequisite(s): Participants must have access to a course they intend to put online to work with throughout the session.
Outcomes: Participants walk away with a course development plan they can immediately use to develop their online course.
Fees for OKQM Affiliates: $70
Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR)
Audience: Participants interested in learning more about QM and the course review process, especially if they are interested in becoming a peer reviewer.
Prerequisite(s): There are no prerequisites.
Outcomes: Participants walk away with the understanding of how to apply the QM Rubric and standards to courses.
Fees for OKQM Affiliates: $100
Improving Your Online Course (IYOC)
Audience: Participants who already teach online and want to improve their course design.
Prerequisite(s): Participants must have a current online course that they have taught once or twice to work with throughout the session.
Outcomes: Participants walk away with a course improvement plan they can immediately use to apply improvements to their online course.
Fees for OKQM Affiliates: $70
Gauging Your Technology Skills (GYTS)
Audience: Higher Ed and K-12 teachers/instructors interested in teaching online. Current online teachers/instructors interested in demonstrating mastery of online teaching.
Prerequisite(s): Ability to read and write standard business English
What Participants Need: A minimum commitment of six hours total is recommended for achieving the learning objectives.
Outcomes: Identify technology skills gaps and be able to fill those gaps through available resources.
Fees for OKQM Affiliates: $35 per participant
Orienting Your Online Learners (OYOL)
Audience: Higher Ed and K-12 teachers/instructors interested in teaching online. Current online teachers/instructors interested in demonstrating mastery of online teaching.
Prerequisite: Ability to read and write standard business English
What Participants Need: A minimum commitment of 12 hours total is recommended for achieving the learning objectives.
Outcomes: Participants will be able to explain why and how to orient learners to online learning and to online courses.
Fees for OKQM Affiliates: $35 per participant
Connecting Learning Theories to your Teaching Strategies (CLTTS)
Audience: Higher Ed and K-12 teachers/instructors interested in teaching online. Current online teachers/instructors interested in demonstrating mastery of online teaching.
Prerequisite: Ability to read and write standard business English
What Participants Need: A minimum commitment of 20 hours total is recommended for achieving the learning objectives.
Outcomes: Learn and select teaching strategies based on learning theories.
Fees for OKQM Affiliates: $70 per participant
Evaluating Your Course Design (EYCD)
Audience: Higher Ed and K-12 teachers/instructors interested in teaching online. Current online teachers/instructors interested in demonstrating mastery of online teaching.
Prerequisite: Ability to read and write standard business English
What Participants Need: A minimum commitment of 12 hours total is recommended for achieving the learning objectives.
Fees for OKQM Affiliates: $70 per participant
Exploring Your Institution’s Policies (EYIP)
Audience: Higher Ed and K-12 teachers/instructors interested in teaching online. Current online teachers/instructors interested in demonstrating mastery of online teaching.
Prerequisite: Ability to read and write standard business English
What Participants Need: A minimum commitment of 19 hours total is recommended for achieving the learning objectives.
Outcomes: The “Policy Exploration” assignment allows investigation in your institution’s policies with reflection on how these policies impact online teaching practice.
Fees for OKQM Affiliates: $70 per participant
Assessing Your Learners (AYL)
Audience: Higher Ed and K-12 teachers/instructors interested in teaching online. Current online teachers/instructors interested in demonstrating mastery of online teaching.
Prerequisite: Ability to read and write standard business English
What Participants Need: A minimum commitment of 10 hours total is recommended for achieving the learning objectives.
Outcomes: Assessment of learning in online courses and explain ways to assess teaching in online courses.
Fees for OKQM Affiliates: $35 per participant
Creating Presence in Your Online Course (CPOC)
Audience: Higher Ed and K-12 teachers/instructors interested in teaching online. Current online teachers/instructors interested in demonstrating mastery of online teaching.
Prerequisite: Ability to read and write standard business English
What Participants Need: A minimum commitment of 14 hours total is recommended for achieving the learning objectives.
Outcomes: Learn important information on how to create instructor, social, and cognitive presence in online courses.

Oklahoma Online Excellence Awards
The purpose of the Online Learning Excellence Award is to recognize individuals and groups that demonstrate exemplary leadership, innovation, collaboration, and results that advance online and blended learning in the state of Oklahoma.
